The materials needed for making native bags are the following: bariw ropes, buri braids and ropes, and abaca ropes. A weaver must have a device called a "molder" made of durable materials: plywood, wood and sheet metal to cover the outlined thick wood. The molder shapes and sizes depending on what kind of bag a bag weaver wants. It can be square, rectangle, egg-shape, fan-shape etc. There are also molders for hats. The bottom is usually made of thick wood because this is where the twined buri ropes are fastened. This twined buri ropes are fastened between the bottom of the molder and a piece of wood or bamboo on top so while in the process of weaving, it will not move.
